Reader Question:
Im a 25-year-old male internet young adult dating a 29-year-old woman. I’ve never really had a relationship inside my existence and have always been extremely new to intimacy. I really like this woman, but We fear that when it comes time for closeness, particularly sexual connections, she will be let down which will end things.
Do you have any advice on the way I approach the situation?
-Zach (Indiana)
Dr. Wendy Walsh’s Answer:
Zach,
To quote a popular president, you have nothing to fear but worry by itself.
Simply put, it really is your own stress and anxiety, perhaps not her decisions, this is the cause of your trouble. And when you move too quickly, these stresses can affect the bodily section of you.
Thus, you’ve got to go slowly. Develop count on. Build communication. Don’t jump into sleep, but invest multiple good evenings with making out and fondling. Let your system flake out and take over.
And tell this lady she means something to you and this is exactly why you’d like to go gradually. She’ll honor that.
Invest the enough time to build a friendship and some great intimate interaction skills, you will lower the anxiety that she’ll assess you.
